Elisabeth: In the chapter of kings cross, are they behind the veil or in some world between the real world and the veil?
J.K. Rowling: You can make up your own mind on this, but I think that Harry entered a kind of limbo between life and death.

아 이건 좀 소름...6권에서 알버스가 리들을 조롱하면서 헀던 말-그리고 그의 (빅픽처를 위한)죽음, 7권에서 겔러트의 볼드모트를 향한 조롱과 그의 죽음.. 그냥 똑같은 말을 하네, 라고 생각했는데 해리는 이들의 모습을 다 지켜보거나 목격한 사람이었다 그리고 결국 볼드모트를 무찌를 때 그도 삶에 있어서 죽음보다 더 끔찍한 것이 있다는 말을 하고 죽음을 겸허히 받아들임으로서-호크룩스를 파괴해냈지

알버스가 투명망토 아래의 해리를 볼 수 있었던 이유

Angela Morrissey: Why is it that albus dumbledore can see harry under his invisibility cloak at certain moments? (during the series is the cloak only infallible to those who do not own a deathly hallow). 
J.K. Rowling: Dumbledore, who could perform magic without needing to say the incantation aloud, was using \'homenum revelio\' -
J.K. Rowling: - the human-presence-revealing spell Hermione makes use of in Deathly Hallows.

--07년 당시 인터뷰니까 신동사에서 뉴트가 "리벨리오"로 그린델왈드의 변장을 벗겨낸 것 자체가 그가 폴리주스로 변신한 것이 아니라 변신주문을 사용하였음을 나타내주는것은 딱히 롤링의 설정붕괴는 아닌듯.. 

폭스가 해리의 것이 되지 않고 날아간 이유

Michael: Why didnt fawkes come back to help harry I would have thought that since harry was so loyal to dumbledore, fawkes would have been harrys new pet 
J.K. Rowling: Something had to leave the school for good when Dumbledore died, and I decided that would be Fawkes. Dumbledore was a very great and irreplacable man, and the loss of Fawkes (and the fact that he was \'non-transferable\'!) expresses this symbolically

J.K. Rowling: Dumbledore understood Mermish, Gobbledegook and Parseltongue. The man was brilliant.

J.K. Rowling: Because he knew that Ron might need a little more guidance than the other two.
J.K. Rowling: Dumbledore understood Ron\'s import!!!!!!ance in the trio. He wasn\'t the most skilled, or the most intelligent, but he held them together; his humour and his good heart were essential.


Lulu: Do you think dumbledore was a little more fond of ron than either ron or harry believed?
J.K. Rowling: Yes, I do. Through Harry\'s account of Ron, and from reports of the professors who taught Ron, Dumbledore understood Ron better than Ron ever knew, and liked him, too.

볼디가 러브포션으로 태어났다는 건 '사랑없이 태어났다'는 상징. 그의 성장기에 어머니의 사랑이 있었다면 볼디도 달라졌을 것. "coercion" 말고.
Ravleen: How much does the fact that voldemort was conceived under a love potion have to do with his nonability to understand love is it more symbolic. J.K. Rowling: It was a symbolic way of showing that he came from a loveless union - but of course, everything would have changed if Merope had survived and raised him herself and loved him.

J.K. Rowling: The enchantment under which Tom Riddle fathered Voldemort is import!!!!!!ant because it shows coercion, and there can\'t be many more prejudicial ways to enter the world than as the result of such a union. 






스네이프관련 질문

Lechicaneuronline: Do you think snape is a hero 
J.K. Rowling: Yes, I do; though a very flawed hero. An anti-hero, perhaps. He is not a particularly likeable man in many ways. He remains rather cruel, a bully, riddled with bitterness and insecurity - and yet he loved, and showed loyalty to that love and, ultimately, laid down his life because of it. That\'s pretty heroic!

스네이프는 사랑을 했고, 사랑에 대한 로열티를 보였고 결국 사랑을 위해 죽었다. 영웅적이죠---개인적으로 스네이프의 서사가 겔러트와 동일하다는건 동의하지않는다. 오히려 알버스와 겔러트를 적당히 섞었달까. 알버스는 사랑에 눈이 멀었었고 그 사랑의 힘을 알기 때문에 모두가 스네이프를 반대할 때 스네이프를 신뢰하였고, 겔러트는 알버스가 자신을 사랑한다는 것을 알았지만 그 감정을 이용만 하다가-결국 말년에는 참회하고 그의 무덤을 지키기 위해 죽지. 스네이프는 본인이 사랑을 했고 그 맹목적인 사랑을 위해 스스로 죽었고..



Jaclyn: Did lily ever have feelings back for snape?
J.K. Rowling: Yes. She might even have grown to love him romantically (she certainly loved him as a friend) if he had not loved Dark Magic so much, and been drawn to such loathesome people and acts.

롤링의 입체적 캐릭터개발을 나도 사랑한다.. 하지만 릴리가 스네이프의 마음을 받아줘야했다고 주장하거나 릴리의 선택을 욕하는건...뭐랄까 여자로서 얼탱이가 없음 누군가 나를 사랑하는 마음이 무조건  고맙고 받아들여야할 것이라고 생각하는걸까 그 사람들은.. 내가 너를 사랑하는것은 나의 문제이지 상대방에게 강요되거나 그 마음을 받아주지 않는다고 상대방이 욕먹을 일이 아니잖아ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ제임스는 딱히 내 최애는 아니지만 갠적으로 난..내가  머글본 마녀라고 가정할때 운동선수에 머리좋고 집안좋은 금수저에 순혈가문이지만 머글차별안하는 남자하고 어릴때 친구이지만 약간 음침하고 크면서 명확하게 차별주의자인 죽먹자쪽에 끼는 남자 중에 굳이 고르라면 전자를 고를 것 같네 볼디는 완전하게 나치의 비유라고 롤링이 컨펌하기도 했었고.. 성적 긴장감 외에도 내 목숨이 달려있는데 누굴 선택하겠는가....ㅋㅋㅋ... 어둠의마법에 빠지지 않았더라면 저 둘도 연인이 되었을 수도 있다잖아 "어렸을 때 잘못된 선택으로 평생 후회를 하였고 자신이 사랑했던 사람의 자식을 지키기 위해 죽음을 불사함"은 왜 이 캐릭터에 덕후들이 많은지 알 수 있다 하지만 그 사랑이 완전무결하지는 않지 릴리 입장에서는 계속 말렸는데 내가 공포스러워지고 강해지면 너도 날 좋아하겠지라는 동인으로 살다가 도와주니까 욕하고..이후에도 애랑 남편은 죽여도 되니까 릴리만 살려달라는데 릴리 입장에서 그 사랑은 공포일 수도 있다고.. 캐릭터성은 호불호의 문제일 수 있겠지만 진심으로 릴리가 욕먹는건 이해가 안감.

개인적으론 어릴때부터 책 읽을 때 -난 해리포터 시리즈와 정말로 함께 자란 세대고 텍스트 내내 스네이프는 해리 입장에서는 불쾌감을 전내 유발하고 애들을 차별하는 캐릭터로 나온다고..반전이 이뤄지기 전까지..영화판 알란 릭맨은 외모도 그렇고 연출도 아이들 차별도 꽤 상향버프 먹었다고 생각함.  물론 그의 겉으로 보여지는 모습들과 그만 알던 진실되었던 모습이 용기이고 사랑이었다는게 10여년간 시리즈를 함께 해온 독자들에게는 굉장한 라스트팡이었지. 해리가 자기 아들 이름을 알버스 세베루스 포터로 지었다는건 저 두 사람이 해리에게도 가장 큰 의미를 가졌지만 작품을 가장 상징적으로 보여주는 것이라 생각한다. 알버스, 세베루스, 포터. 사랑을 몰랐고 이기적이었던 볼디를 무찌를 수 있는 힘은 사랑의 힘을 아는 것(이 사랑은 성애적 사랑만이 아니니)이라고 주구장창 나왔던 작품 내에서 각자 자신의 사랑을 알던 사람들이었으니.. 

 

해리에겐 각자 내가 열살 꼬마였을때부터 자기를 인도해줬던 마법세계의 상징적이고 무한한 버팀목이고 절대선인줄만 알았던 알버스가 사실은 사랑의 실패로 많은 대가를 치뤘고 자기 자신을 다듬어왔고 대의를 위한 삶을 산 현자였고,  냉혈한이며 자신에게 무조건적으로 적대적인줄만 알았던 속을 알 수 없는 사람이 사실은 누구보다도 큰 사랑을 가지고 있었던 사람들이니까. 두 캐릭터의 양면성 둘 다 멋있다고 생각하고 10년간 작품과 같이 커온 입장으로서는 아, 1권에서 땅땅 못 박았던듯한 선악이 모호해지면서 성인이 된다는 것이 어떤 의미인지 알 것같은 그런 느낌이었다
